I have had this product for just shy of one year and have had problems with the product and customer services. The first problem arose after about three months. The litter began to collect behind the rake. I contacted customer services and got nothung but a giangantic runaround. The questioned if I was using their replacement litter trays. I had used nothing but theirs. Then they wanted to know where I bought the replacement trays, which was a nationally know pet store. Then they wanted to know the serial numbers on the litter trays. I gave up the quest for a resolution to the problem. The trays have never lasted more than one week and mosy recently I have noticed that the tray is leaking through the plastic film leaving the box a bit soggy. The rake has rusted despite frequent cleaning and now solid waste adheres to the rake. The rake cannot be replaced so I am searching for a replacement. It will definitely not be another Scoop-free, although I did like the fact that it never smelled like a litter box. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT BUY THIS LITTER BOX.

We've had 4 Cat Genie 120s for almost 2 years and would never consider any other product for these reasons:
1. They work and we don't have to (clean eight boxes every morning).
2. It puts animal waste in the sewer were it should to be.
3. The payback is 12-15 months, the warranty is 2 years.
4. We're not carrying used litter through the house where bags have broken.
5. No water waste. My hook-up are to laundry trims and vanity sinks. Yes, vanity. I installed a down tube with disposal "T" and used 5/8" reinforced tube (Lowes, Home Depot) to complete connection without Toilet Tube.
6. Using Cat Activation mode there is no build up of solid waste to clog the pump or waste line.
7. Some beads leave the Genie area but we found an effective, inexpensive solution.
8. There were some product issues early on but Petnovations courteously resolved all of them.

We followed the training directions and all but one cat is using the Cat Genie. That one always chose the tub over the box. Could be a lot worse.

The original power heads which had defective LED lights were all courteously replaced. Learning to understand the BEEPS took a little time but now that's all behind us.

Once a quarter we try to give them a through hand cleaning (latex gloves) in the yard or a tub.

We recently adopted an Bengal. He took to the Cat Genie the first day and has not looked back.

I have two ten year old cats who have shared domed litter boxes their whole lives. I bought this one in the large size (it is a bit small due to the construction) and I absolutely love it.
The cats took to it immediately. You do have to roll the box and slap it sometimes to get things unstuck but I find this sooo much easier and less messy than using a scoop and then storing the scoop. I clean the box twice daily (live in a small apartment) and it takes me all of 30 seconds to roll, slap, remove the drawer and deposit stuff in a bag. Couldn't be simpler.

I agree with all the bad reviewers and can't believe the amount of good reviews -- they must work for the company -- this liter box is terrible! It is too small and even if I clean it daily my cats urine makes its way out of the box because the opening dips down too low and if there but is near the opening they pee outside the box and when you rock and roll it the clean liter spills out due to the poor construction -- the lid is secured only by 3 plastic clips --- I purchased 2 of these for my small cats and I want my money back! I sent an email to the place and they would not stand by their product and said they had never heard of cats peeing outside of the box -- I bought this item based on good reviews I read over the internet which are lies! My cats have never urniated outside of their litter pan before the Omega rock and roll!

this has got to be the worst product I've ever used! The smell it leaves in my house is disgusting and I threw the whole device out within 1 week of using it. The slide bar never works properly and my cats HATE the box. I am in the process of emailing one of the customer service managers about this product in hopes that he can refund the money I wasted purchasing this product. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! It is horrible and does nothing for odor control and makes a mess!

I had purchased the first cat genie and it took me a while to decide to set it up, which I finally did in July 2009. Almost immediately, I began having problems with it. It worked for about a week, and then for the next three days, I had recurring problems even though I was following the instructions including cleaning the machine twice. The machine continued beeping three times even after it was cleaned and had run through the cycle. There were no blockages and the black knob for the black thing (you would think I would remember after having read the instructions so many times) that turns in the bottom turned freely in both directions.
I also had a problem where there was water in the bowl and all four green lights at the top were lit. It was very frustrating because my cats didn’t have a place to go to the toilet and they were starting to become scared of the machine again. It took more than two weeks and a very filthy litterbox before they even began using the Genie, and I was afraid they'd start going in other places if the problem wasn't corrected soon.
Unfortunately, I first called customer support repeatedly, including three times in one day (if you’ve ever smelled baking cat feces or had to clean that unbelievably disgusting muck out of the bottom of the cat genie which caused me to retch every time I had to do it, you’ll know how desperate I was), and didn’t receive any response from those messages, nor from email messages. The cat genie eventually ceased to work at all; all four lights 1-4 were lit on the top of the machine but I could not cancel the auto setup. I also could not run a cleaning cycle because the button didn’t work when I pressed and released it. I tried several times to press the buttons or press and release the buttons and they didn’t work. When I finally got someone from customer service to return my calls, I had to go through a hassle to convince them I owned the cat genie and had purchased it within the valid warranty period. They send me a new processor and that one seemed to work okay, but I think the cat genie just really doesn’t handle solid waste all that well, even though both of my cats are short haired and I brush them both regularly.
Now, I am once again having issues with the cat genie, but this time it is the 120 Cat Genie which I purchased in September 2009 from Amazon.com. Briefly, the cat genie now beeps once every time a cycle goes through, even if the cycle has gone through successfully - or it beeps during the cycle and when I try to restart it after following all of the steps, it will begin beeping again mid-cycle even though there is no issue with clogs. I have had to clean the genie now every day after a cycle for more than a week, and there is nothing visibly wrong with the machine. It has been thoroughly cleaned each time and reassembled, and this is getting very annoying.

Recently purchased a Litter Robot II for my two cats. I really like it. It took the cats a while to get used to it, but now it's my only litter box. It is a litter miser and extremely easy to clean. One caveat--if you purchase with their 3 month plan they will add $15 to the cost (currently $346 versus $329). Also, if you can wait, watch the website for free shipping that they offer periodically. You'll save $19,95.
